Fastfood for Lovers is an almost abstract study of apricots, enlarged until their soft curves become something more intimate and ambiguous.
The title was inspired by Call Me by Your Name and its use of fruit as a symbol of desire, vulnerability and devotion. The painting explores how something as simple as a taste, a scent or a piece of fruit can hold the memory of a person, a place or a feeling. How the most ordinary things can become inseparable from the people we once shared them with.
